Nearly 200 Iranian lawmakers have expressed support for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s remarks at the UN General Assembly last week.
In a statement released on Sunday, 195 lawmakers said Ahmadinejad’s remarks brought joy to the Muslim and freedom-seeking nations of the world.
On Thursday, Ahmadinejad proposed that an independent UN committee investigate the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington over what he called “suspicious” circumstances surrounding the attacks.
Two Iranian lawmakers shared their views on the controversial call with Press TV.
“President Ahmadinejad’s revolutionary standings are naturally not pleasant for countries like the United States and Britain, and therefore they are worried,” head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Sunday.
“Ahmadinejad referred to an issue which has been a big question mark in the minds of Americans. Naturally the United States is not happy about Ahmadinejad’s speech, because there are many ambiguities surrounding the 9/11 incident, especially over its connection with the Zionist Regime [of Israel].”
Lawmaker Hassan Ghafourifard said Ahmadinejad “was criticizing the position of the United States about what happened on September 11, because so many people were killed in that incident. Then America felt justified to attack Iraq and Afghanistan.”
“No body cares about the kind of killing that is going on in Afghanistan. And President Ahmadinejad said we have to do a researched probe to find out what was really behind that attack,” he added.

Speaking at meeting in the House of Commons and later in a packed public meeting called by Reinvestigate 911, on Monday Cynthia McKinney endorsed the call for a genuinely independent investigation into the 9/11 attacks. The issue has become live again since President Obama cited 9/11 as the reason for escalating the war in Afghanistan and extending it into Pakistan, she said.
Tony Blair cited 9/11 as the event that made the subsequent wars possible when he supported calls for military action against Iran at his Chilcot appearance in February.
McKinney was the only person in Congress to ask questions about the many exercises which were being conducted by the Pentagon on the morning of the attacks. One was an anti-hijack exercise, which official sources put down to a bizarre coincidence. The existence of the anti-hijack exercise only came to light after the 9/11 Commission seized and reclaimed tapes which the Pentagon thought had been erased.

“The Jersey Girls” support AE911Truth efforts!
We’re proud to have the endorsement of The Jersey Girls, who single handedly forced the Bush Administration to convene the 9/11 Commission after one year of inaction following the attacks of September 11
Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth is proud to be working for and on behalf of the 9/11 victims’ family members, in particular The Jersey Girls. We recommend “9/11 Press for Truth”, which is the story of the Jersey Girls and their struggle for the truth. (Watch the companion DVD “In Their Own Words”, here – Nor Cal Editor)

Washington – Speaker Nancy Pelosi kept the door open Tuesday to a proposal by several senior House Democrats to impose a graduated surtax on American taxpayers to finance the war in Afghanistan.
While Pelosi wasn’t pressed about the details of the new war tax, she pointed to strong reservations among Congressional Democrats about the costs of the war during a conference call Tuesday with several economic writers and bloggers.

President Obama reminded us today why so many people did not vote for him, or John McCain in 2008. Obama used the Presidential podium to promote the War of Terror that his predecessor Bush launched in 2001, after 9/11. Does Obama not know of the recently discovered high-grade explosives, known as thermite found in the dust from NYC on 9/11? Needless to say, Obama’s message now is a far cry from what most Americans thought they were voting for in 2006 when Democrats seized control of Congress, and again in 2008 when they won the Presidency. In his speech Obama points out…
- “This is not a war of choice. This is a war of necessity, those who attacked America on 9/11 are plotting to do so again. “
- “This will not be quick nor easy.”
- “So this is not only a war worth fighting, this is fundamental to the defense of our people..”
- “The insurgency in Afghanistan didn’t just happen overnight, and we won’t defeat it overnight…
His speech was meant to build support for the 8 year old war, which polls show are dropping in popularity. Only 41 percent recently surveyed supported the Afghan war. This could be a reason why Barack Obama’s popularity in general has faded as well.
The war is not going to end anytime soon. Barack Obama has launched a surge in Afghanistan and Generals are already saying more will be neccesary, possibly reaching 70,000 troops before a year from now.
Unfortunately the People of the United States will have to speak louder to their Government officials.
