This Week in 9/11 (March 22 – March 28)

March 28, 2010

A summary of news relating to 9/11/01 – For the week of March 22 through March 28, 2010. (Last week is here)

To many the week’s biggest news might have been the documents obtained by the ACLU, detailing many things including the words of John Ashcroft, Donald Rumsfeld, and George Tenent to the 9/11 Commission Chairmen to “not cross” a certain line of investigation. According to the specific document (or page 26 in the original PDF of documents at ACLU) :

There is, however, a line that the Commission should not cross — the line separating the Commission’s proper inquiry into the September 11, 2001 attacks from interference with the Government’s ability to safeguard the national security, including protection of Americans from future terrorist attacks. The Commission staffs proposed participation in questioning of detainees would cross that line.

Of course that is only a small piece of the withholdings by officials regarding 9/11, but many can use this in specific discussions of the whitewash known as the 9/11 Commission Report and its improper investigation to skeptics.

Another tape allegedly from Bin Laden made headlines across the U.S.. However none of the headlines from the mainstream “corp-press” mentioned the fact that Bin Laden has been reported dead by many media outlets:

Former assistant director of FBI’s counter-terrorism division Dale Watson; former Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf; current Pakistani President Asif Zardari; Afghan President Hamid Karzai; late Benazir Bhutto; Israeli intelligence sources; Pakistani and Afghan sources, including Taliban leaders all have reported Osama bin Laden to be “probably dead” since December 2001. (Source)

Neither was there a mention that the last attempt by the FBI to issue an image of Bin Laden turned into an embarrassing photo-shop tragedy. This latest statement contains the following relating to the alleged detainment of KSM:

“The day America will take such decision [to execute Mohammed and any others] it would have taken a decision to execute whoever we capture,” Bin Laden says on the tape.

The timing was days after the 7th year mark (Mar 20) of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. The material is sure to add to fear of having trials in New York, and keep Guantanamo open just a little longer. If I was to put my opinion to you a civilian trial could never happen because:

  • There is no evidence against KSM
  • Everything that would be “used” against him allegedly came from torturing him
  • KSM could never have planted explosives in the towers
  • KSM could not disengage NORAD command
  • KSM might not be real, he might be dead, or he could be free
  • Much more of all this would be available for the public

A detainee held at Guantanamo Bay on alledged terrorism charges for almost 10 years was ordered free this week by Judge James Robertson. After 10 years the Government has not produced the minimum to keep this man behind bars legally, yet he most likely will not be released soon if at all:

However, the government will not be freeing Slahi any time soon. First, government attorneys must decide whether they will appeal Judge Robertson’s secret decision.

Slahi’s case is made more notable by the involvement of a key Bush administration whistleblower, Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Couch, a government prosecutor who refused to bring charges against Slahi after learning of his torture.

Meanwhile, back in the City of New York, officials are to begin sifting through the rubble and remains of Ground Zero at the “Fresh Kills” landfill. Family members were notified of the 1.4 million dollar operation just this week. I speculated about this more over here.

In the same week a real estate deal was settled for Larry Silverstein, owner of the World Trade Center complex. Larry is notoriously known for slipping and saying “pull it” when referring to WTC 7 in a PBS interview. “Pull it” is an obvious term used in controlled demolitions. Read this article to become semi-familiar with the insurance scam Larry “pulled” off with 9/11.

Due to those demolitions, many became sick from dust, pollutants, intoxicants, concrete, debris, asbestos and who knows what else. Last week a deal was canceled by a judge or a payout to the first responders. This week H.R. 847, the James Zadroga Health and Compensation Act cleared some hurdles according to the AFL/CIO blog. And speaking of health, over 400 medical professionals were added onto the list of groups who are calling for a new investigation into the attacks of 9/11/01.

Not everyone who questions 9/11 have PhD or Masters. This week while browsing around I found footage of the 2006 World Champion of Poker speaking about Al Qaeda and 9/11. The video is not long, but his position is made clear. As the youngest poker champ for a time, Jeff Madsen might be the newest celebrity to question 9/11 as well.

Hats off to the Pink Elephant collective for great political art. Fortunately a video of their experience was made and can be seen here: This is inspiring news. The news from Paul Graig Roberts is not as inspiring, however to be duly noted. This week we might have seen (one of?) his last of critical articles. Wiki has this on Roberts:

Paul Craig Roberts (born April 3, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia) is an economist and a nationally syndicated columnist for Creators Syndicate. He served as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan Administration earning fame as a co-founder of Reaganomics.”[1] He is a former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Scripps Howard News Service. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. He was a post-graduate at the University of California, Berkeley, and Oxford University where he was a member of Merton College.

In 1992 he received the Warren Brookes Award for Excellence in Journalism from the American Legislative Exchange Council. In 1993 the Forbes Media Guide ranked him as one of the top seven journalists in the United States.[2]

His writings frequently appear on OpEdNews,, Lew Rockwell‘s web site, CounterPunch, and the American Free Press. Roberts has been featured as a guest on the Political Cesspool radio show.[3]

And this week Roberts had this to say:

Today Americans are ruled by propaganda. Americans have little regard for truth, little access to it, and little ability to recognize it….

America’s fate was sealed when the public and the anti-war movement bought the government’s 9/11 conspiracy theory. The government’s account of 9/11 is contradicted by much evidence….

As the pen is censored and its might extinguished, I am signing off.
